Updates on proposed annexation of Holy Spirit Lutheran Church

We recently notified you about the proposed annexation of the Holy Spirit Lutheran Church on Ellison Wilson Road by Juno Beach. We objected to the proposed annexation on the basis that it violates Florida statute 171 because it would create an enclave. The County initially concurred and advised Juno Beach of its position. Juno Beach cancelled a scheduled first reading of the proposal pending an official determination and notification from the County.

After further research the County has concluded that it will not oppose the annexation. See the County’s letter to Juno Beach here

County's response to our Oct 20 letter

Because, in our view, the County's latest response still does not adequately answer our questions, we've requested a meeting with County officials to seek further clarification of the County's position. Officers of the Board and our attorney will be meeting with representatives from County planning, Assistant County Counsel and a representative of Commissioner Marcus' office in mid-November. We will discuss the outcome of that meeting on this site and at our annual meeting on November 17th.
